What cookies and local storage do
Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent with matching website requests. Local storage keeps a value in your browser for the website to read. Both can remember a choice, but a stored appearance preference is different from an advertising identifier.
This page describes the UK website. The authenticated client area at my.telahosting.com is a separate service and may use its own session and storage controls.
Essential sessions
The UK native session supports security checks for forms and authenticated functions. Its cookie name starts with tfc_ and has a site-specific suffix. It is a session cookie, with Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite protections. It is not an advertising cookie.
Blocking essential session storage can prevent a form or sign-in function from working. Browser session-restoration settings may affect when a session cookie is removed.
Appearance preferences
If you choose an appearance, the website stores telaforge-website-theme in local storage so your light or dark choice can be remembered. A saved legacy telahosting-theme value may be read when restoring an earlier choice. The preference has no application-set expiry and can be removed by clearing site data. It does not identify an advertising audience.
Optional analytics and marketing
Optional tracking categories start off. A configured optional provider may run only after the corresponding category is allowed. Browsing, scrolling or closing a choice panel is not treated as permission. The UK website currently runs without optional analytics and advertising tags.
If optional tracking is enabled, the website provides a Privacy choices control with separate analytics and marketing choices. You can decline optional tracking and keep using essential site features. Where a tag manager can run both categories, the implementation requires both choices before it loads.
The UK website also keeps optional tracking off when it detects Global Privacy Control or a recognised Do Not Track setting.
Remembering and changing a choice
When optional tracking controls are available, tuk-privacy-v1 in local storage remembers the categories you choose and when you chose them. The application accepts a matching saved choice for up to 180 days. Removing site data resets that saved choice.
Reopen Privacy choices to change or withdraw an optional choice. When a previously allowed category is switched off, the page reloads to stop further optional tag loading and removes recognised first-party tracking cookies it can access. Your browser can remove additional site data. Withdrawing a choice does not undo information already sent while it was allowed.
Third-party services and current provider information
External links take you to another service, whose privacy and cookie information applies there. A link to a client area, social network or support service does not itself mean its tracking code is installed on this UK page.
If optional providers are added, this page will identify the relevant purposes and storage before activation. For a question about a particular request or cookie, contact the team with its name and the page you were visiting.
Browser controls and further information
Your browser can show, block or remove cookies and local storage for this website. Clearing all site data can reset appearance and privacy choices and sign you out of an authenticated session. Controls and menu names vary by browser version.
For related personal-information questions, read the UK privacy notice. The global cookie policy describes the wider service context; the positive-choice controls described on this UK page govern optional tracking on the UK website.
Common questions
Does continuing to browse accept optional cookies?
No. Optional tracking starts off and requires the appropriate positive choice before a configured optional provider can load.
Why might I not see a Privacy choices button?
The control is added when optional tracking is configured and enabled. If no optional provider is enabled, its tracking script and choice panel are not loaded.
Will clearing cookies also clear my appearance choice?
An appearance choice uses local storage. Use your browser’s site-data controls if you want to clear both cookies and local storage.
